Your Vote... Boy or Girl?

"A child fills a place in your heart that you never knew was empty."-- Anonymous

I'm happy to be back in the blogsphere. My laptop has returned from over a month of "shelf time" in various computer tech departments. The hard drive was replaced (thankfully with finally salvaging all my data) and my old friend has returned. I'm still looking for some trip photos... hopefully those will show up soon!

Just a little over two weeks to our due date (which means the baby could come anytime in the next month). It's definitely a lankey one... the head, heart beat, and feet were all sprawled across my abdomen.

Today I saw the nurse midwife (for my weekly visit). The baby is still in head down position, and the heart beat sounds good. Lindsay (our midwife) says that the Hispanics she has worked with in South Texas told her if the heartbeat sounds like a gallop, it's a boy, if it sounds like a washing machine it's a girl. Our baby sounds like a galloping stallion to me... at 140 beats per minute.

So what's your vote? Do you think it's a girl or boy? (Vote by responding to the poll on the top right). We've pretty much decided on a boy name (we've got a hunch it's a "he" but we're not sure) but the verdict is still out on girl names. Vote for "he" or "she" and post your girl name suggestions to our comments. :)

well, mary and i are split. i'm voting boy and she says girl.
hmm...
girl names were harder for us too. turns out we didn't need them (yet). mary says she can relate to where you are at because she was great with child at this time last year. (our little guy was born on the 20th).
however, i can't relate to the labor Mark has endured!
Lona. Lona Joy Miller. or Analee Lona Miller.
well, there's our 2 cents. ;-)
God bless,
seth and mary and truett

I am voting for a girl because I want you to have a girl. I can't wait to hold her.....or him.
It doesn't matter.

You look beautiful Rach!

oooh... I hesitate to guess. 140 is the "borderline" for the heartbeat wives' tale... Em was 140 and they say OVER 140 is a girl and under is a boy...

hmmm. I will say boy, but just because you do.

As for girls' names? Do you like classic or trendy? We like Elise, Anna, and Megan... and I love Sophia, Chloe and Grace, and Claire. Among others...
