Our Mini-Miller is due to arrive in 3 days! I'm thinking it will be a Burke style arrival (better late than never) and not a Miller one(punctual and planned)... the suspense is building! We've been refreshing ourselves on the vast baby and birth knowledge we have acquired in the past nine months, and I thought it would be fun to give you a little quiz (used during the introduction of our childbirth class).
So here we go! (See answers below).
1. Newborns average ___ diaper changes per 24 hours.
2. There is ___% more blood circulating in a pregnant mom's body by the time of birth (than pre-pregnancy).
3. Babies are born on their due date ___% of the time.
4. The average length of labor for a woman having her first baby is ____ hours.
5. The most popular name for a baby born in Texas in 2006 was ____.
And now... the answers...
1. 12. That averages to 90 diapers/ week! Mark guessed 6 for this answer. Wishful thinking!
2. 50% more blood. God prepares the mom well for any blood loss at birth. It's amazing!
3. 5%. There's statistical accuracy for ya!
4. 12-16 hours. We're hoping that will mean that Mom Burke and Esther (Rachel's sister) can jump on a Southwest flight and make it to Dallas before baby Miller is born!
5. Jose. Mark and I guessed John but we should've guessed this one.
