Super Bowl Sadness

Chalk it up to pregnancy hormones... I have to confess I actually shed a few tears this morning when the Arizona Cardinals lost their whirlwind comeback against the Steelers. This is especially remarkable considering the fact that two days ago, I didn't know the Cardinals no longer were in St Lois (or was that the baseball team? yes, we do live on the other side of the world), let alone be aware that they were heading to the Superbowl. Last night, Mark and I quickly did some internet research in anticipation for this morning's (7 am) LIVE Superbowl showing at an American friend's house. (Superbowl snacks of french toast and blueberry muffins... yum!) I was proud that the Southwest, mi tierra, once again made it to a big game (like the Suns have). Ah well, we will recover. Poor Abe didn't quite know how to handle each riotous cry from the couch for the big plays of the game... he did shed a couple tears on the Cardinals behalf along with his mommy. :)

ps. I hope to catch up with pictures and tributes soon. My laptop is back in "repairs" and we'll be in the village for the week. Thanks for praying for us!

what? the super bowl happened? Don't feel so bad...I had no idea who the Steelers were even playing, much less all that jazz about the cardinals relocating. And one of the best things about being married to an Indian...they don't care anything for American Sports! Such a great life perk...

Haha - had to laugh! We watched the Superbowl at friends' as well. Nice breakfast included. That breakfast, and the company, were the only reasons I was interested! They were all cheering for the Cardinals too ... have to say I really didn't care a whole lot til the Cardinals made that comeback ... and then lost anyway. Yeah - that WAS sad. Even for a non-fan like me. And I don't have any Arizona connections or anything either!

Abe reminds me of Melanie with noise at that age - she was really sensitive to loud things (firecrackers, sneezing, unexpected cheering!) Don't know if I can post this or not. I think I have a blogsite but who knows what my password is ...
