I have to tell you one more Grandma Martha story. (Sorry, no pictures available). Mom has an infectious curiosity about all things in life, especially those relating to science, nutrition, and God. It was a delight to introduce her to the new wonders of creation here, from cinnamon trees to intricate orchids, colorful fish to larger than life leaf ferns.
One day her observant eyes discovered these little wormy creatures living in the residue water in our dish drainer, and she asked to keep them for observation. (The slug which was also an uninvited guests was promptly returned to the garden). I'll have to admit, their cute little contortions and swims in every direction were intriguing to watch.
We weren't sure what happened to mom's little bowl of fishy friends when they disappeared a couple days later. Only this week, I discovered that the lady who cleans our house tossed them, wondering why we were keeping a dish of mosquito larvae! Oh, God is gracious to us ignorant desert dwellers.
