I have a lot of catch up news and pictures to share with you, but still not enough minutes to do it justice, so I'll tell you our "newest news" and fill in the happy histories of the last couple months sometime soon. We've had a full house here at our "city home." This rental was furnished and occupied for 10 years by Jim & Karla, colleagues that are now living in England. They are here for a month's work & a visit, along with their children and grandchildren (six months old-- Jamie and Joanna). We also have the honor of hosting a wise and senior colleague and his daughter who work with the same language project. So not a dull moment! (The crew started arriving three days after my mom and sister Esther went back to the States).
There are twins on Mark's side of the family and I had thought romantically about the notion of a pair of my own, but seeing the incredible amount of work involved with a twosome has given me some pause for thought.
Speaking of babies, our little Lima Bean Miller seems to be doing well. He/she is an inch long now... hmm, that's a big lima bean. My nausea seems to be abating, and Abe's afternoon naps usually provided much needed rest in the day, although he's been fighting his first childhood cold lately... fun for all. I still need to find a doctor/ midwife here. I've been looking for natural birth options, but there aren't many here. Pray for wisdom and God's guidance in that.
Little Mr. Abraham Frank is a delight to watch. He gets more adventurous with walking each day, and has perfected the tottering squat to recover his falls... much to our relief. He has caught on to baby signing and is good at the "more" sign during meals, but only seems to enjoy it when he has the idea (we haven't got to the signing INSTEAD of wining stage... it is eagerly awaited). He loves music of all kinds and gets the head and feet jiggles when he hears happy tunes (and joins in when mom serenades). We spent most of this week in the village, and it was providential we were there. Our host mother was in a car accident near their home (our host brother was driving). She was hospitalized for a couple days for face and arm injuries, but is healing well and back at home. We were so thankful to be there to support the family during this time, and were grateful to the Lord for sparing their lives. It did remind us that eternity is so much closer to us than we often realize. May His light shine brightly in this corner of the world, as in yours. :)
