The Countdown Has Begun!

Mark and I were getting ready to go to sleep tonight, and my water broke... a gallon flood of it! Woohoo!

It looks like this will be a Tuesday baby!

Right now, I haven't really started contractions or had any pain, but we're really excited this baby will be born in the next 24 hours! (Hospital requires a delivery in 24 hours to avoid risk of infection). We're going to get some rest (if we can) and call the midwife back in the morning, if no contractions have started. (Or earlier if they have).



We saw the midwife today, for the usual baby fitness test (required for babies 10 days or more past the due date). The baby's doing great, with a healthy heartbeat, getting plenty of nutrition from the placenta. We were discussing state fair food and the midwife mentioned a restaurant in Georgia that has the distinct claim of serving a dish of eggplant Parmesan that is guaranteed to bring on labor in full term women within 7 days (or your money back). We had an eggplant in the fridge, so Esther and I cooked up a full batch of eggplant Parmesan. Bon apetit!
