I'm sorry for my blogging deliquency. We were away from home last week (for an intensive course), and we took advantage of the time to take my laptop to the shop for problems with the power connection. The report? I need a completely new motherboard. This is quite unfortunate timing, since my 3 year warranty expired last month. So, the long and short of it is that I'm going through laptop withdrawal. No pictures to post. It's amazing how intimate one can be with a little silver box! It feels like I lost a little part of me.
We also gave up our wheels today. We've been blessed with our colleagues' car while they were away, but a new family arrived yesterday (who we are so happy are able to stay in our "new to us" apartment). They have a baby a month older than Abe, plus two other kids, so they definitely need the wheels more than we do. We're going to try to go wheel-less for a month, to see how we can manage with buses, taxis, and our feet. (Buying a car here doesn't seem reasonable considered the short amount of time we are in this city). So I'm going through car withdrawals too.
The past week has been pretty stressful, with lots of moving and transition, getting our apartment ready, preparing for leaving for the next three weeks on Monday (out of the country for an academic conference, then to our village area for two weeks). Pray for us to be loving and gracious to each other, full of the peace that comes from the Prince of peace. Do be lifting up our time in the village too. We need to work on our long term visa options and are looking forward to Abe meeting his Asian adopted grandparents for the first time!
