Belly Blog-- Month 8!

I had a request for a "belly shot" and since I don't get requests on this blog very often, I decided I should keep my reader(s) happy. So here's little bro (we call him "adik", meaning younger sibling) at almost 8 months. Though I may not look it, I'm feeling quite large these days. And yes, warm. We had a month of soaring temperatures, water shortages, and power outages (just during the hottest part of the day)... making this a very toasty third trimester.
Abe has been increasingly intrigued with mom's growing belly. He likes to punch it with his finger. I have been teaching him the sign "baby" (done by rocking the hands back and forth as in rocking a baby) so he signs baby when watching my belly. On one of our especially warm days a couple weeks ago, Abe was sitting in his high chair, inspecting and punching in his own pot belly (it was a diaper only sort of day). A light when on his head and he proudly rocked his hands back and forth signing "baby"! OK, no baby in there, but his belly is definitely growing... almost like moms!
Abe has been a delight as he gets better at imitating and acquiring language. His favorite new words, besides office "ottah", are "oat" (for oatmeal, daddy's daily morning speciality), and "chiss" (for cheese).
