Welcome, little Grace Christine!

My best friend Danielle, who lives in Columbus, Ohio, gave birth to another little girl this Tuesday: Grace Christine Michael. We're excited for Abraham, which means there are now two women who are of high enough caliber to qualify to marry our son. (Grace and Isabelle). Of course, Grace makes a better candidate since Isabelle would be an older wife.

Danielle has been my friend for... wow... 16 years, since we met in the TM internship. We were college buddies and have shared lots of the same experiences in life. Summer trips, RA room checks, Texas heat, life as "career singles," marriage (seven months apart), and now motherhood. It's our passions, though, that brought us close, and the way we can talk for hours about great issues (God's call or global injustices of poverty and slavery) and small (baby sleeping schedules or the search for mangosteen in the continental U.S.). Danielle's parents, Steve & Molly (mom2 to me) have been spiritual parents and mentors in my life. Isabelle, Danielle's first child, is our cherished goddaughter and I know she's going to be a professional big sis.

Danielle has always been the planner CEO type while I tend to be flexible and spontaneous. Our first births were a case in point... Isabelle arrived on schedule, with an appointment at the hospital. Abraham sauntered into life ten days late. Grace Christine arrived right on time, too, in perfect health. Thank you, Lord, for all your good gifts.

Congratulations, Danielle, Conrad, and Isabelle. We love you and can't wait to squeeze little Grace for ourselves one day!
