We're back in the city, after a great time of retreat and planning with our colleagues. We came back with some guests, a couple from England, "Uncle" Paul and "Aunt" Di who are staying with us a few days. Paul gives of us time in doing the books for the branch, so they came to meet the colleagues they serve. They've been great fun. Abe giggles more with Aunt Di than anyone he's met. I think he was missing his American grandmas.

Yesterday Abe had his long awaited first meal. Ripe baby bananas. He did a few funny face contortions and spit out the first few spoonfuls, but decided very quickly he liked this "solid" stuff, and he downed a tablespoon or two. So cute!

It'll be on to rice cereal tomorrow. Mommy is still looking for a high chair and working on getting all her ducks in a row for the wonderful new world of baby feeding and its residue.

Abe donned his Spokane baby shower bib, "Give peas a chance" and decided the bib tasted just as good as the bananas. :)
After bussing and hoofing it for the last month and a half, we are the proud users of a fairly new Hyundai car. Thank you, Dave and Marsha! Our colleagues from another city are at home for the summer, and graciously offered us their wheels. (This will fit our timetable perfectly for when we move to our village area). It has wonderful get up and go for meandering the crazy city streets, and the air con can recreate Antartica if we like. Wonderful!
I'll still walk to my language tutor's house and the market, but it will be really nice to have some more mobility and flexibility in our schedule. Thank you, Lord, for your abundant provisions.
