See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...we need silence to be able to touch souls.” Mother Theresa
This weekend was a much needed breather. Friday afternoon we packed up the car and headed two hours east to Bob Sandlin State Park. It was a small gathering of Grace (our church) folk, a mix of campers (the pop out kind), cottagers, and a few of the hard core tent types. Mark left his Thermarest at home so we both had an equally fitful night of sleep... but the view of the trees hovering above us, shadowing the moonlit sky made it all worthwhile.
Saturday we layed in, had a nice camper's breakfast of hot oatmeal (Mark's specialty), took a jog on the mountain trail, chatted with friends, talked in Spanish with the fishermen on the pier (Mark learned the important distinction in Spanish between the word "pescado", meaning "fish" and the word "pecado" meaning "sin".)
Sorry we have no pictures to post. We were too busy taking pictures with our head :)
At dusk we headed back home. Now it's back to reality (Mark residing in his familiar cubicle in the library working on revisions, and Rachel working on SU materials in the office)... we'll be moving Wed. to Friday over to the Dye's (close family friends) where we will be house sitting. Somehow moves don't seem to get any easier with practice! We really need to downsize to make room for baby paraphernalia when we move to Asia in November.
