A few of you have asked how Abe is adjusting to his new little brother. He seems to have a sense of awe, confusion, and curiosity about this little introduction to his life. We have some kittens next door, so he's learned to be gentle with little beings, and has been careful with Sam. Mostly he just watches as Sam gurgles, nurses, cries, and sleeps. The day after we arrived home, he brought me Sam's sock so I could put it on him. (Then he proceeded to try them on his own toes). One of his new words this week is "side" (for slide)-- we brought home an early 2 year gift from grandma and grandpa for his brother's birthday and it's been fun to watch him and our next door neighbor Mizah play together.
For today's viewing, we have the unedited arrival at home video, Abe's first meeting with his little brother after we picked him up from the babysitters returning from the hospital.

CRACKED me UP! the way Abe did not want to leave his activity. Little D does the same thing, even if the thing I'm bringing him to is something he himself requested 2 minutes ago.
