100 Riders

A couple weekends ago, the Lono horsemen made their appearance at town center in our village area, in their annual regalia. This was my first Lono horsing event to witness, and I was not disappointed:he colors, the formations of horses, the games, and even the cotton candy for the kids (some things are just universal, even if they don't fit in the National Geographic spread). My favorite event was horse and rider musical chairs-- where the riders, after walking a circle on horseback, dismount and race for chairs (after the musical gongs have stopped). The horses and riders showed admirable decorum for each other... very unlike a musical chairs game at "little Johnny's" party would be. The other highlight were the water buffalo races. Now I think I've seen it all. Maybe it could only be topped by... rhino racing. :)

Very cool horse culture. Blankets are a little fuzzy on this end, but must be beautiful.
