Viva el amor!
Here is a "guest post"... My sister LuAnne made this video in honor of our cousin Ericka's birthday. (Ericka is the beautiful one holding the Starbucks cup). I have to chuckle inside... these photos were taken after the family saw us off in the El Paso airport, for our return to Asia. While the family was enjoying the sunshine and Starbucks at the airport lounge, (unbeknownst to them), I'm literally running from airport security to the ticket counter, with a baby in one arm and a toddler in the other... the ticket agent printed the wrong boarding pass for me, and we had to get another printed and make it back through security before departure. We made it, of course, just by the hair of our chinny-chin-chin. The airport cart arrived just at the right moment and whisked the boys and I to meet Mark at the gate. Whew. Another one of those Miller travel adventures!
Anyways, happy belated birthday Ericka! You've always been an inspiration to me... your creativity and care for others, your love for Jesus, and your way with words (You're a great writer). Some of my fondest memories of childhood are connected with you... skating around singing musicals in your basement in Queens, running down hills in El Paso chasing the rainbows, saving the tadpoles in the irrigation ditches on the farm in New Mexico (from sure death as the dry heat was shrinking their homes). I can still hear your and Tanya's song "Downtown, where all the lights are bright" dancing in my head.
We love you and wish you a great year of growth, joy, and gratitude.
(Also in the video: the Burkes (including grandma Martha), cousin Mary Elizabeth and Aunt Ondina (Abe calls her "Tia Nina)
