Celebration week (or Cookie week?)

This afternoon we leave for a week in the village. Wednesday marks the beginning of the feasting at the end of fasting month, and Thursday will be Abraham's first birthday. Two packages arrived just in time... from the Burkes and the Millers, so Abe's celebrations won't be without his American grandparents' thoughts and love. (Aunt Esther sent this activity book that Abe loves!) We're planning a little B day shindig. There are a few challenges, considering there's no oven for his birthday cake (we're making muffins and a small cake on a stove top box oven) and our host family's fridge is just a bit cooler than the temp outside.

Post fasting month feasting is all about visiting everyone you ever met, or your great aunt Fatima met... eating more cookies than you ever wanted or desired... and donning head to toe polyester wear. For three days. I can't wait!

Pray for us, for good health (Abe and I have unwelcome guests in our intestines at the moment) and good connections with old and new friends and family. Pray for good naps for Abe too. It gets toasty in the afternoons in our little room at our host home.

Awesome you got the pkgs! Think the Activity book is from the Millerst though. (I sent Maisy which I think was from Tania D long time ago).
Happy 1, Abe!
