If you've had the fortunate opportunity to get to know my one of a kind father, you'll agree that this video is vintage Francis Burke. (No, I'm not saying that my father is vintage... just that the video is). Last year, the then soon to be grandparents were visiting us in Texas and we took dad to the Ft Worth Stockyards. He found an oldies country music store and gleefully poured over Earnest Tubs CDs (and other country greats). I have fond memories of sitting on the couch with dad, listening to him singing "The Gambler" and shaking my leg to the rhythm. Maybe that's why I pull out the twang tunes whenever I'm feeling homesick (much to my Northwestern husband's chagrine). Anyway, dad picked up these tunes and is obviously still enjoying them...

Dad, I honor you this father's day, for your unimitatable humor, for your tenderness and compassion for your three girls, for your heart for Jesus and the lost, for your faithfulness to mom and your constant provision for your family. I wish I could make you a pecan pie for your special day, but seeing as karo syrup doesn't travel so well halfway across the world, I'll have to give you a raincheck. Con mucho amor, your 34 year old "baby."

That is so funny! Are you just ahead of the curve, or did you know Father's day is NEXT sunday? :)
That's great, Rach. Love Daddy-o! Happy Father's Day to you too, Mark!
